Sarah McLaughlin, RSSW, is a dedicated and highly skilled mental health professional with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate addiction, trauma, and complex mental health challenges. Beginning her career in healthcare as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Medical Laboratory Technician, Sarah initially planned to pursue nursing. However, a profound life event inspired her to shift her focus toward understanding human behavior and the intricate connections between the mind, body, and emotions.

This shift led her to pursue academic and professional training in mental health and social services. Sarah earned credentials in Pre-Community Justice and completed diplomas in Community Justice and Social Service Work. Recognizing the need for specialized care, she went on to earn certifications in Concurrent Disorders, Addiction Treatment, and Trauma Counseling.

Blending Expertise with Holistic Practices

Sarah’s commitment to offering a truly integrative mind-body approach is reflected in her advanced training in attachment theory, traumatic stress, and over 200 hours of Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training. Her certifications as a Death Doula and Reiki Level 1 practitioner complement her expertise, allowing her to incorporate mindfulness, movement, and energy work into her practice.

Her experience spans working with individuals facing significant challenges, including mental health crises, substance use, chronic stress, and grief. Sarah’s unique ability to combine evidence-based methods with holistic practices ensures that her clients receive care that supports not just emotional healing but overall well-being.
